Dear Colleagues,
With thanks to our Nominating and Elections Committee — Geoff Navara, Chair; Ingrid Brenner; Bruce Cater; Ihor Junyk; Robin Quantick; and Tracy Sallaway — TUFA’s 2026/27 Executive Committee has been finalized. At the close of our extended nomination period, we had five members standing for as many elected positions and so they were all acclaimed (per Article VII.2 of the TUFA Constitution). The Nominating and Elections Committee also made recommendations to the outgoing Executive for appointed positions on the new Executive and these were formalized yesterday.
The new Executive Committee officially assumes it duties on May 1st and will comprise the following:
President Dwayne Collins (LIBR)
Vice President Karleen Pendleton Jiménez (EDUC)
Treasurer Wesley Burr (MATH)
Secretary Robin Quantick (INDG/ADMN)
Member@Large Mary Jean Hande (SOCI)
Member@Large Aaron Kreuter (ENGL)
Member@Large Adwoa Onuora (SOCI)
Chief Grievance George Kovacs (AGRS)
Officer(s)* Anne Pasek (CUST/TSE)
Chief Negotiator Susan Wurtele (TSE)
M@L (Durham) Nancie Im-Bolter (PSYC)
M@L (Equity) Nael Bhanji (GSJ)
M@L (LTA)** Brent Bellamy (CUST)
Past President Moira Howes (PHIL)
* George Kovacs will continue as acting Chief Grievance Officer through June 30th, with Anne Pasek returning to that position on July 1st.
** Brent Bellamy will continue as Member-at-Large (LTA), at least, through June 30th.
We should note three individuals who are not on the list, but to whom thanks are due. Andrew Tanentzap is stepping off the Executive after completing a term as a Member-at-Large. Geoff Navara has contributed to TUFA in a myriad of ways, most recently as Past President and Chair of the Nominating and Elections Committee. And, finally, Jaime Morales has been TUFA’s Treasurer for almost a decade. His expertise has allowed us to expand the role significantly and he has done much to improve our collective understanding of the University’s finances.
In Solidarity
