2025/26 TUFA Executive Committee

Dear Colleagues,

With thanks to our Nominating and Elections Committee (Moira Howes, Chair; Bruce Cater; Marina Morgenshtern; Ellen Olsen-Lynch; Robin Quantick), TUFA’s 2025/26 Executive Committee has been finalized. The four members standing for elected positions have been acclaimed (per Article VII.2 of the TUFA Constitution), and the Nominating and Elections Committee’s recommendations for appointed positions were formalized by the outgoing (2024/25) Executive Committee yesterday.

The new Executive officially assumes it duties today (May 1st) and comprises the following:

President                           Moira Howes (PHIL)

Vice President                   Dwayne Collins (LIBR)

Treasurer                           Jaime Morales (ADMN)

Secretary                           Robin Quantick (INDG/ADMN)

Member@Large               Mary Jean Hande (SOCI)

Member@Large               Karleen Pendleton Jiménez (EDUC)

Member@Large               Andrew Tanentzap (TSE)

Chief Grievance Officer   Anne Pasek (CUST/TSE)

Chief Negotiator               Susan Wurtele (TSE)

M@L (Durham)                 Adwoa Onuora (SOCI)

M@L (Equity)                    Nael Bhanji (GSJ)

M@L (LTA)                         Mara Heiber (INDG)

Past President                   Geoff Navara (PSYC)

It is worth noting three individuals who are not on the list, but to whom our thanks are due. Alba Agostino is stepping off the Executive after serving several terms as TUFA’s Member-at-Large, Equity and, before that, as our Member-at-Large, Durham. George Kovacs has completed a two-year term as an elected Member-at-Large. And David Newhouse. David’s name has appeared on lists like the one above – without interruption — since 2008. He served a four-year stint as TUFA’s President and has been TUFA’s Chief Grievance Officer for many years. As a TUFA member, David has also done a great deal of work through our national affiliate, the Canadian Association of University Teachers, to advance Indigenization throughout the post-secondary education sector.

In Solidarity

Marcus
