General Membership Meeting March 24th

Dear Colleagues,

We have scheduled our Spring General Membership Meeting (GMM) to begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, March 24th. The meeting will be held virtually and members will be able to participate using the Zoom link sent to members by email.  The Executive Committee has decided to use this meeting as an opportunity to provide a comprehensive briefing on developments at Trent and across the sector.  Although we have all been understandably preoccupied by the pandemic and Trent’s adjustments to it, we should soon be on the other side of the crisis and it is time for us to think through our priorities for Trent post-COVID. Among the topics to be discussed will be university finances (brought into sharp relief by the insolvency crisis at Laurentian University), the projected impact of retirements on TUFA’s membership over the next two years, the shift out of remote course delivery, and a variety of initiatives now underway including TUFA’s EDI work and the Employer’s restructuring of the Office of Research.

 Per the Association’s “Policy on Payment for Care of Dependents,” individual members anticipating any such expenses related to participation in a GMM should contact the TUFA office to arrange for reimbursement.
