There are several items of interest to start the week:
1. Changed Administrative Deadlines and Requirements.
TUFA has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Employer that resets the following deadlines and requirements (for the current year only):
-APR letters from the Deans will only be sent electronically;
-members should receive the Deans’ APR letters by December 11th;
-the competition deadline for Teaching Support in the Winter Term will be November 16th;
-the list of available courses to be offered in the Spring-Summer session will be circulated by December 15th.
2. Campaign to release Carleton PhD student detained in Turkey.
Cihan Erdal is a doctoral researcher and peace activist in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University and a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. He had recently returned to Turkey to visit family and conduct fieldwork for his doctorate, but was detained on the morning of September 25, 2020, along with 16 other academics, activists, and politicians. Please help secure Cihan’s safe return to Canada by sending a solidarity message on his behalf.
3. Online screening of Abu November 5th (4:00 pm to 7:00 pm)
