Professional Librarians

V.1 Classification, Promotion Requirements and Salary Scales

 

Except where modified by this Agreement, the document entitled "The Classification, Promotion Requirements and Salary Scale of Librarians", Appendix A of this Agreement, shall remain in force during the life of the Agreement.

Letter of Understanding
Re: The Contributory Pension Plan for Employees of Trent University

The Pension Plan ["The Contributory Pension Plan for Employees of Trent University (consolidated and amended working copy)", dated December 1993], shall be amended by the deletion of references to the Social Contract. Such references are indicated in the Plan by shaded text.

Complaints Grievance and Arbitration Procedure,
and Dismissal For Cause

VI.1
A grievance is a claim by a member or group of members, by the Association or by the Board that there has been a violation, misinterpretation, improper application or faulty administration of the terms and conditions of this Collective Agreement.

 

1996-1999 Collective Agreement APPENDIX L

Letter of Understanding

The parties acknowledge that all of TUFA's pension-related proposals were withdrawn without prejudice to the position of TUFA in any legal proceeding, including existing grievance and arbitration proceedings under the Collective Agreement. The withdrawal of these proposals shall not be referred to by either party in any such legal proceeding.

Financial Exigency

VII.1.1
If the Board believes that a financial exigency, within the meaning of VII.2, exists, it shall give notice to the Association and the Senate of such belief.

1996-1999 Collective Agreement APPENDIX M

Letter of Understanding

The parties agree the Employer's Monetary Proposal, tabled the 29th of July, 1993, is incorporated in the Memorandum of Settlement, and further clarified as follows: both during and after the term of this Agreement, for the purposes of the test under Article 4.7 of the Pension Plan relating to minimum Employer matching contributions and Article 14.4 of the Pension Plan these agreed reductions funded from surplus will be considered as actual Employer contributions.

Salaries and Benefits

VIII.1 Salary Scales

 

The salary scales for the period July 1, 1996, to June 30, 1999, shall be as set out in Schedule A.

Letter of Understanding

The review of the rank-step scales set out in Schedule A, and the issue of additional steps at the top of the scale, shall be referred to a bilateral committee which shall report with its recommendations to the Joint Committee on the Administration of the Collective Agreement before the end of the term of the Collective Agreement.

Letter of Understanding

The Association proposal for provision of extended health benefits for retirees shall be referred to the Joint Committee on the Administration of the Collective Agreement without prejudice to the Association's grievance.
